Nicole Scherzinger is adamant that she hardly spends any time in front of the mirror each day.
Yet, the singer is rarely seen in public without perfect hair and heavy make-up.
“I have a hectic schedule, so my daily beauty regime is pretty low maintenance… I have very long, thick hair – it’s like a horse’s mane! so I tend to wear it up”, Contactmusic quoted her as telling InStyle magazine.
“I’ll often pull it back into a high bun; it takes two seconds and still looks really chic,” she said.

Nicole Scherzinger has become one of the most successful solo artists in the UK. She is renowned for her iconic hits, including Don´t Cha, Jai Ho (You are My Destiny) and Buttons, whilst performing with The Pussycat Dolls, an all-American pop and dance girls group. In January 2009 The Pussycat Dolls performed at Bournemouth´s BIC and their support act was the formidable Lady Gaga. By early 2010 the first Dolls recording group had disbanded and Nicole was following her solo career.

From her new role as a judge on the U.S version of The X Factor and the release of her album, Killer Love, Nicole Scherzinger is taking the entertainment industry by storm. We caught up with the former Pussycat Dolls lead singer on the set of her shoot for The Beauty Book to talk about everything from her musical inspiration to her childhood nickname.

Tell us what your fans can expect to hear on your new album, Killer Love. How is the music different from what you have done in the past?
Killer Love is a lot more personal to me. Fans can expect everything from dangerously fun dance anthems to rock pop tracks. These will be songs that make you feel good but come from a very personal place from me. It’s hopefully an album that fans can really relate to, especially if anyone has gone through change. I really opened up on this one.
Ahlan! caught up with Nicole Scherzinger in Dubai after her big spat with Simon Cowell to find out what the ex-Doll has lined up for her new solo career…
Former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger’s got a new solo album, is back on with Formula One racer Lewis Hamilton and is still shaking what her mama gave her. While her album Killer Love is heating up the UK charts, talk of her X Factor dismissal is even hotter! Nicole got the chop in January with Simon Cowell saying she has, “Daffy Duck’s brain”. Ouch!
Nicole – who replaced Cheryl Cole on the show (though according to Nic they’re the best of friends) – was also criticised for poor mentoring skills, bad song choices and being boring! Clearly, not everyone’s born to judge!
Luckily for Nic, things are going a little better in her personal life. After a brief split, she’s back on with Lewis. The pair called it quits in October 2011 after three years together, but thanks to Lewis’ dad, they decided to try again. Dad’s advice for the driver? A settled personal life will be good for his racing career. How romantic!
We caught up with the former Doll at Dubai’s Cirque Du Soir where she peformed tracks from her new album in the early hours after arriving late, looking a lot like Kim Kardashian…
We’re glad to see you back. What’s your favourite thing about the UAE?
This is my day off and I’m in Dubai and I couldn’t imagine a better place to celebrate. It’s so unique – it’s like an exotic, way-more-expensive Vegas!You’re wearing an amazing outfit – we love the Louboutin boots and your wrap. Can you tell us about it?
I’m wearing Khatoon, an independent local Dubai designer who made this especially for me to wear tonight. I’m doing the honours and representing the people of Dubai.Your first solo album Killer Love was recently released. How is it doing?
It’s doing great. I’m so thankful to the people in the UK for their reception. It hasn’t been released in the US yet but the UK gave me my biggest career highlight.What are your plans for 2012? Any new projects?
I’m going to be in Men in Black 3, my very first motion picture. I’m also doing more musical theatre.In 2010, you competed on Dancing with the Stars. What was it like?
It was one of the greatest experiences of my life and I won with the grace of God and my great partner, Derek Hough.Would you ever do something like that again?
Oh my god, honey, no. I would never do that again. I have absolutely no regrets, but I’m embracing and moving forward.You’re turning 34 this year, but you don’t look it. Can you let us in on your beauty secrets?

Nicole Scherzinger’s dream wedding dress would be designed by Alexander McQueen.
The stunning songstress loves the Sarah Burton creation worn by the Britain’s Duchess of Cambridge when she married Prince William last April.
Nicole was in awe of the gorgeous lace gown and would certainly look at enlisting the British designer to create her own wedding dress in the future.
“If I were to get married I’d love an Alexander McQueen dress. The lace and the grandeur of Kate Middleton’s wedding dress felt so regal – it was beautiful!” she exclaimed to British magazine Closer.
Nicole has also named her ultimate designer buy. The 33-year-old beauty says singer-turned-designer Victoria Beckham‘s frocks are flattering for her frame.
“I love wearing Victoria Beckham’s dresses,” she gushed.
“They feel very sexy yet demure at the same time, and their structured silhouettes are very flattering on my figure.”
Nicole has described her signature style. The raven-haired beauty looks to other glamorous stars for fashion inspiration.
“I adore red. It’s such a chic colour and, when I was growing up, my mother always said it suited me,” she said. “My style is very bohemian rock chick – I’d say it’s a cross between Jennifer Lopez and Kate Moss.”
Nicole appeared as a judge on the first season of the US version of The X Factor. She wowed with her flattering ensembles, and kept a firm hand in the decisions about her weekly style choices.
“I had a great stylist for X Factor, Amy Jagger, who pulled together lots of options for me. But I’m very particular and liked to have a say” she laughed.
“I used each week’s music theme to inspire my look.”

Nicole Scherzinger appears to have found a new friend in Mary J. Blige as the pair were working out together last week.
Former X Factor USA judge Nicole posted a photo of herself and Mary on her Twitter page, with both drenched in sweat after an intense workout. The singers appear to share the same celebrity trainer, Ada Merner, and possibly bumped into each other at a class.
Clearly excited about bumping into the R&B singer, Nicole wrote alongside the photo:
“Working out with the beautiful @maryjblige! Getting our sweat n grind on with our trainer @adamernster! Luv u Mary!!!”
Former F1 star says McLaren driver’s lovelife with Pussycat Doll could end up affecting his season
Lewis Hamilton could pay a heavy price for his globetrotting visits to girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger, reckons David Coulthard.
Coulthard, who won 13 Grands Prix, warned that the 2008 champion needs to husband his energy carefully if he wants to win a second world title across the longest season in the sport’s history.
All the signs from testing suggest Vodafone McLaren will be in the hunt from the opening race for the first time in four years.
Whether 27-year-old Hamilton is still in the hunt an energy-sapping 20 races and five continents later depends on how his approach has changed, says former McLaren ace Coulthard.
Disillusioned by another uncompetitive McLaren car, exhausted by a long-haul battle to save his failing relationship with popstar Scherzinger and battered by continual clashes with race rivals, Hamilton labelled 2011 the worst of his career.
But he returns to the fray in 10 days, refreshed by his longest break from F1 in more than five years and just a single visit to Los Angeles to see the former Pussycat Doll since Christmas.

On your debut album MoveMeant you worked with Akon, Nicole Scherzinger, Nelly and Pitbull. Who was the most fun?
Lets say I enjoyed working with Nicole [laughs]. But the most fun was probably Pitbull. We were really close and he was supporting my stuff. For an upcoming artist it was an honour for those big names to support my music, they believed in my stuff because they were part of my baby, my first album.
If you’re in the studio with RedOne writing songs, you don’t know who’s going to pop up. You might see Lionel Richie, Enrique Iglesias, all of these amazing artists, and you make friendships and collaborate. When it was my time to write my stuff I called them and was like, ‘It’s time to write.’ Everybody was like, ‘Yeah OK, we believe in you!’
What was Nicole like?
Wow. Nicole is such an amazing girl. Pretty on the outside, pretty on the inside. We have good chemistry. She’s like a sister. Chemistry is important because you can hear it on the record if there isn’t any. It goes up the charts and quickly goes back down – that wasn’t the case for our record!

When I walked into the suite at the Dream Hotel downtown to chat with Nicole Scherzinger about her new line of press-on nails for imPress all I could do was stare at her legs! She was wearing loose, leather shorts and a great pair of stilettos that made her gams look redic. A dancers legs for sure, they only made me want to hit the gym and do a thousand lunges. I had to stop before it got creepy and focus my attention onto the reason I was there, the nails.
“In my line of business, appearance is everything and my hands are always next to the mic, which make my nails the final accessory,” Scherzinger commented.
As the Celebrity Brand Ambassador for imPress Press-On Manicure, she designed nine styles: three solid neon colors and six patterns that will launch in May at CVS and Walmart. Her favorite are the ones I ended up trying on at the event, which are a gradation in color from purple to black to midnight blue with black stars on them. They’re rock star chic.
Since she’s part Hawaiian, Scherzinger also created a set with Hibiscus flower incorporated into a French manicure to represent her culture and a set with music notes (inspired by last year’s Dolce and Gabana collection) to represent her career.
“I need to make sure I’m expressing myself through my nails just like I do with everything else so designing a manicure on-the-go was a perfect fit for my crazy schedule.”
When I applied the press-on-nails myself I was impressed that there were enough in the set to find ones that matched my tiny nail beds. They’re easy to apply, literally you just match them up to your cuticles and press down. However, you should cut them down and file them to the shape you desire.

Hi Nicole! Welcome back to London. What do you love most about performing here?
London is such a great city. My most devoted fans are here and they seem to come from all over the world to see me perform. Brits are a tough audience though, but whenever I perform here I enjoy it and it’s very special to me.
So many performances must require many different looks. How do you cope with changing your style so often?
My beauty team is really fast! Each one of them makes me glamorous and boosts my confidence; it’s like I’m a new character when I’m all dolled up.
