The whole scha-bang

She can sing (boy, can she sing), she can dance (jive, anyone?) and she’s the most successful X Factor mentor ever (not bad for her first season). Nicole Scherzinger ir pure TV gold.

For Nicole Scherzinger it’s been, in her own words, a scha-mazing year. In her first season on The X Factor, the judges became the most successful mentor ever when all three of her acts made it into the top five, and James Arthur and Jahméne Douglas went on to win first and second places. “I mean, I don’t want to brag, but you can put that down,” she deadpans in the mischievous tone that convinced you to vote her TV Personality of the Year.

“It’s exciting and fun to know that I wasn’t a complete failure on television, thank you!” she says happily of her Women of the Year awards. “I couldn’t have imagined it being any better. And the Brits embraced me. They were just as bonkers as me, and really gave me the confidence to be myself and have fun with it.”

Initially, the 34 year old – who had previously appeared as a guest judge – had her reservations about signing up, “There was such positivity when I did the guest judging, so I didn’t want to mess that up. And when I came over, my welcome in the press was, ‘We want Mel B. Nicole’s boring.’ I thought, ‘What am I walking into?’ But then I decided I’d give you everything I’ve got and if you didn’t love it, there’s nothing I can do about it.”

Of course, we did love it, and it was in no small part to do with her loopy proclamations about the contestants. “That’s how I usually speak in real life,” she insists of phrases like ‘spunky’ and ‘warm apple pie’, “You hear the same adjectives over and over. I thought, ‘We’re supposed to be in a creative setting, so let’s get creative with hoe we give our critiques!”.

Nicole’s priority now is turning that creativity towards “getting an album right, so I can set up a great tour – everything else is up in the air.” And whether it’s music, TV or touring, we’re sure she’ll be doing in her own (inimitable) way.

Sharon Osbourne, Louis Walsh, Nicole Scherzinger and Gary Barlow all walked the red carpet at the Manchester United Old Trafford football stadium this afternoon before kicking off the third round of auditions.

This year the first round of auditions will take place in front of only the judges in small rooms, with the budding performers singing acapella to show off only their voices.

Those who impress will be invited back for a second audition at an arena later on in the summer, where they’ll have to not only perform in front of the panel but also a 3,000 strong live audience to show they’ve really got The X Factor.

After today’s try outs in Manchester, the judges will continue to hold the last two audition stops this year in the capital London and Cardiff. This will be followed by the second stage of judges’ arena auditions in July.

Nicole Scherzinger has shown her support for the Special Olympics at a tea party for British athletes.

The X Factor judge – who performed at the closing ceremony for the 2011 Special Olympics World Summer Games in Athens – met with medal-winning gymnast and table tennis player Greg Silvester during the reception at Coca-Cola’s headquarters on Wednesday (June 12).

Scherzinger played table tennis with Silvester, autographed his shirt and gave him a personal note reading: “To Greg, you inspire me. All my love, Nicole.”

The singer was a guest of Special Olympics CEO and chairman Timothy Shriver, who is the son of the organisation’s founder Eunice Kennedy Shriver.

While visiting the UK, Shriver was keynote speaker at a parliamentary roundtable to discuss ways of creating more opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities to access sport.

The Coca-Cola Foundation has awarded $400,000 (£254,577) in funding to Special Olympics GB ahead of the National Summer Games, which take place in Bath between Wednesday, August 28 and Sunday, September 1.

The next global summer games are scheduled to take place in Los Angeles in 2015.

X Factor judge and singer Nicole Scherzinger got some vocal lessons of her own as fans helped her get the hang of the local accent on the second day of X Factor auditions today.

Arriving for the ITV talent show auditions in a chilly Birmingham, Scherzinger stepped on to the red carpet wearing a short black and white mini dress and towering white heels, her hair tied back in a top-knot.

As photographers snapped away, the US star said: “I can’t pronounce Birmingham.”

Willing fans screamed: “Birm-ing-ham” at her and the 34-year-old repeated, smiling: “Ahhhh, Birmingham.”

Today is the second day of auditions, with the first held in Glasgow last week. The judges will next travel to Manchester on Thursday.

The headliner of the night disco project “Askaktaiber, Astana!”  becomes a famous American singer Nicole Scherzinger, best known as the vocalist of the group Pussycat Dolls. This was reported to astana.kz in the media group of the organizing committee on preparation and holding of the 15th  anniversary of the capital.

The grand gala concert of Kazakh and foreign music “Askaktaiber, Astana!”  which is held every year on the Day of the City, has turned into a kind of the capital brand.

This year’s concert will be held at the Republican cycle track “Saryarka”. The participants of the concert will be  popular national artists and international pop stars, who lead the charts.

On the celebration of the 15th anniversary of the capital,  Luina, Ali Okapov, popular Kazakh ethnic group Assyl, Duet Arnau, Son Pascal, K-Rim, A-Studio, Diskoteka Avariya, Potap and Nastya and others will perform in Astana.

Singer full of praise for X Factor mentor

Jahmene Douglas has told EntertainmentWise that he thinks a lot of men would love to have a woman like Nicole Scherzinger in their lives.

The singer, who finished second on the 2012 run of The X Factor, had the former Pussycat Doll as a mentor, and will release his debut album Love Never Fails in July.

He has collaborated with Scherzinger on a cover of ‘The Greatest Love Of All’, which they performed during last year’s finale.

Speaking to EntertainmentWise about whether he would marry a woman like Nicole, Jahmene said: “Any man and a few women would want a woman like Nicole!”

On Tulisa’s exit from the talent show, he said it’s important for the show to “evolve”, and suggested: “I think the panel has to evolve every year, I think they should have a guest spot… so it changes each week.”

He also promised that his album will be “gospel re-interpretation”.

On June 4, 2013, “The X Factor” U.K. auditions in front of the judges commenced at Grosvenor Hilton Hotel in Glasgow, Scotland, with the show’s new lineup of judges: Gary Barlow, Nicole Scherzinger, Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh. The judges did their first group interview together with “X Factor” U.K. host Dermot O’Leary in a video that the show released on June 5, 2013.

In the interview with O’Leary, the judges didn’t really say anything new, but Osbourne was warmly welcomed back to the show. Walsh said that he always believed that there would be “a chance” that Osbourne would return to “The X Factor” U.K. judging panel.

Osbourne commented on what she’s looking for in contestants: “You can have the best voice in the world and the oldest saying is ‘They’ve got the perfect face for radio.’ You’ve got to have the personality.”

Scherzinger added, “We’re not looking for people who want to be artists, we’re looking for people who are artists already.”

Sharon Osbourne was welcomed back to the X Factor panel earlier today when the 2013 auditions kicked off in Glasgow, and the 60 year old star has said that she can’t wait to work with fellow judge Nicole Scherzinger because she’s been a huge fan of her for a while. N’awww!

Sharon joined Gary Barlow, Louis Walsh and Nicole to kick off their year’s auditions and unlike in previous years, hopefuls were given the chance to impress the panel in an intimate room with no audience or backing track.

Shazza was greeted at Glasgow’s Hilton hotel earlier today by a couple of hunky male locals, who opted to wear kilts (and nothing else) for her big day.

Former Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole looked amazing in a snakeskin outfit topped off with red heels and Mrs. O couldn’t help but gush over her love for the Boomerang beauty, according to The Sun.

Sharon said: “I love her. I’ve known her for a long time, she is fantastic.”

Reports also suggest that the red headed reality star organised a ‘peace’ dinner for the 2013 panel last night to mark their first evening in the city.

As she linked arms with her hunky helpers outside the venue, embarrassed Sharon joked: “How bad is this?”

She added: “I can’t even begin to put into words how I feel. It’s fantastic to be back, it’s a dream come true.”

Nicole Scherzinger and Lewis Hamilton made time for themselves at the weekend as they happily celebrated five years together.

The high-profile couple marked their anniversary on the beautiful island of Capri, with romantic Lewis, 28, posting a picture taken on their special day on his Instagram page.

The candid snap shows singer Nicole, 34, and her Formula 1 driver beau looking excited as the prepare to board a helicopter together. With her arms up in the air, Nicole poses in a striped dress and a straw hat while her man stands by her side, a smile on his face.

Lewis’s adorable pet bulldog Roscoe sits at their feet, wearing his very own pair of ear protectors.

In a caption to accompany the pic, Lewis wrote, ” Me & my lady celebrate out 5 year anniversary in Capri, a time I will never forget. I love you babe.”

Last weekend, on 26th May, supportive Nicole was in Monaco to cheer on Lewis as he took part in the Grand Prix there. She is making the most of some downtime before she begins work on the next series of The X Factor.

The famous couple were spotted enjoying a cruise on a small motor boat around the island of Capri together, and they couldn’t have looked happier.

Nicole was in Monaco over the weekend to support Lewis at the F1 Monaco Grand Prix.

The brunette is no doubt making the most of her free time before she begins working on the next series of the X Factor later this year.

Nicole Scherzinger may be a Hollywood star, but she hasn’t forgotten her alma mater.

The former Louisvillian and Pussycat Dolls frontwoman has endowed the Youth Performing Arts School at duPont Manual High School with a $2,000 scholarship.

The first annual Nicole Scherzinger Performing Arts Scholarship will be presented at YPAS’s annual Senior Night on Thursday. It will be awarded to a singer, dancer or actor who exhibits exemplary performing arts potential and academic success and plans to pursue performing arts in college.

“When I was at YPAS, the classes and teachers gave me discipline, training and skills in my formative performing years,” Scherzinger said in a news release. “I hope to give a deserving student advantages to compete with other students on a national scale. ”

On Sunday, Nicole Scherzinger attended the Monaco Gran Prix of Formula 1 to support her boyfriend Lewis Hamilton. Super Stylish, Nicole came to GP and then settled on the facilities of Mercedes.

Possibly, Nicole will be alongside Lewis for the next few days because in June 4th she will have to attend to the UK to begin his job as X Factor Judge.
