The singer, who is gearing up to release her debut single ‘You Bring Me Joy’, said she feels a little under pressure to match the success of her 3rd-place predecessors One Direction.
Asked if she aims to replicate their global success, she said: “It’s a lot to match up to. I do feel a bit under pressure, I’m not gonna lie!
“Best of luck to the boys, they’re all absolutely lovely. It was an honour to even meet them.
“Hopefully one day I can do as well as them. It’d be pretty amazing. But you never know do you, so we’ll see.”
On Nicole Scherzinger’s appointment on the talent show, replacing Amelia’s mentor Kelly Rowland, the Middlesborough belter said: “I think shes a great choice. She’s been in the industy for God knows how many years.
“She put One Direction together! She also did the American X Factor. I also think it’s nice to change the judging panel to keep it fresh and keep it new.”
We also talked to Amelia about who she’s still in touch with from the show, and if she feels under pressure to hit the big time straight away after Marcus Collins and Misha B struggled to match the multi-platinum, chart-topping heights of 1D, Rebecca Ferguson and Cher Lloyd.
